5th-6th loses heartbreaker 13-12 to Mahopac

In what was perhaps the gutsiest game played by a Somers team at
any level this season, the junior Tuskers showed their true grit. While
leading at halftime 6-0, something told us it wasn't over. Mahopac
scored twice, once in the3rd and once in the 4th to make the score 13-6. After the second score there was
1:57 left in the game, it was then the Somers offense came to life. Everything
clicked, the passing game, the running game. Made possible by the superb blocking of the entire offensive line. Somers scored with 3 seconds
remaining to make the score 13-12. Now a decision had to be made, go
for the tie or go for the win. It was an easy one, go for the win! Johnny
Decker faked a handoff to Johnny Cegielski, rolled out right then threw a perfect pass
to Sam Bird only to have it knocked out of his hands at the last second
by a Mahopac defender. What a game! this week the Somers boys take
on the Maroons of Mt.Kisco at Fox Lane High School. Sunday morning
at 11:00a.m. See you all there
