The scoring combination of McGuire to Dolan and the performance of special teams and defense led the Tuskers to a 27-8 win over visiting Lourdes.

The game started with both teams playing good defense and changed when the Somers Punt return team blocked a punt attempt and recover the ball inside the 5 yard line. The punt was blocked by the center of the line led by Willie McFadden, Chris Gross and Bryan Carson. Fullback Rob Lombardo bulled over the line to give Somers the early lead. Dylan Hass kicked the extra point for a 7 - 0 lead.

Somers scored next on a long drive. Key runs by Anthony Kalosieh and Doug Milde kept the drive moving and the offensive line game Tom McGuire time to find John Dolan in the endzone for the score.

Loudes scored late in the third quarter to bring the score close at 14 - 8, but the defense tightened and caused a couple of turnovers to seal the deal. Interceptions by Dylan Hass and Matt Deiana led to two scores, the last by Deiana when he took a tipped pass to the endzone. Tim DiPaolo, apparently thinking about the baseball playoffs, took a knee on a screen pass to assist with a crucial first down.

The Tuskers travel to Panas for their next game Tuesday, Oct 11 at 4:15.
