On Wednesday September 28th, the 8th grade team endured a tough loss to the very physical Harrison Huskies by a final score of 8-0. Offensive mistakes prevented the Tuskers from winning, but the game was highlighted by a Somers goaline stand on not 1, not 2 but 12(that's right 12!!) plays within ten yards of our goaline. The defense was lead by the intense and emotional play of Monster Back Colin Tullgren. Defensive End Christian Smith also contained the outside with raw toughness. The defense's secondary of Eric Dolan, Greg Petre and John Bello all contributed to shutting down the Huskies offense. Eric Carpeneto and Sean Ryan provided push at the defensive tackle positions and Keith Wines made an unbelievable lead block on offense, lifting his man off the ground. Punter Jack Pasalides pinned the Huskies deep, twice punting over the return man's head. All in all, it was a GREAT effort by the Somers Tuskers.
