Somers pulled away from upset-minded League A-A host Panas last night by scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter of its 28-14 win.

With the win, Somers (5-1, 4-1) has set up a league-title showdown on Friday against visiting Fox Lane.

Matt Deiana and Rod Lombardo both scored two touchdowns for the Tuskers. Lombardo gained 115 yards on 10 carries and Deiana rushed for 81 yards on 10 carries. Dylan Haas gained 85 yards on nine carries for Somers.

Quarterback Mike DiDomizio scored both touchdowns for Panas (1-5, 1-4). DiDomizio completed 12 of 23 passes for 192 yards.

Somers was clinging to a 7-6 lead until Lombardo scored on a 2-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

"I knew we were in trouble coming into this game," Somers coach Tony DeMatteo said. "They were coming off their first win (21-20 against Brewster) and it was their Homecoming. We made too many mistakes and took too many penalties and Panas played a little over their heads."
