Mod 7 Sneaks by Nanuet 26 - 19

Posted Tuesday, November 16, 2004 by Bud von Heyn

Although the Ross Weiner quarterback sneak was not the key play of the game, it did exemplify the teamwork that led to the Tusker victory.

Somers defense played an incredible game, twice stopping Nanuet drives inside the 10 yard line. Led by the strong work of Andrew Madigan, Justin Wymbs, Max Hirsch, Tyler Shaw and Keith Wines, the line refused to break and stopped Nanuet from scoring on a possession that started first and goal on the 5 yard line. Greg Petre, Erik Pffifner, Dean Lauzon and Kevin Watson led a secondary that had many key tackles. John Crowley and Billy Jordan did a very good job containing the runs and pressuring the quarterback.

Special teams performed well with John Bello scoring an extra point on a keeper and Brandon Gardineer ducking into the end zone with a pass completion. Eric Dolan had a long 30 yard run and did a good job long snapping on two successful punts.

And Matt Deiana scored touchdowns.

The Tuskers have their first home game Wednesday Oct. 20 at 4:15 at the High School.
