Posted Saturday, June 04, 2005 by Tony DeMatteo

The 5th/6th Grade Somers Tuskers are off to a great start! In their season opener vs. a tough opponent, the Tuskers beat the Carmel Chiefs 7-6 in a defensive struggle. The difference in the game was Special Teams; Somers made its extra point & Carmel didn't! Player of the game was Robbie Mendoza who had a key first down and an extra special tackle on defense.

In its second game of the season on Saturday, September 25, the 5th/6th Grade Somers Tuskers beat the visting team from Kent with a total team effort. The final score was 26-12. Robbie Cegielski was named player of the game with 2 touchdowns and an interception.

The teams from Carmel, Kent and our own Somers Tuskers were cheered on by enthusiastic fans and large corps of cheerleaders.
